NYC Pride announced that it has selected and confirmed Edith Windsor, Harry Belafonte and Earl Fowlkes as Grand Marshals for the 44th annual NYC LGBT Pride March.

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch, who died Feb. 1, whose outsized personality fit his city but who never fully came out as gay, leaves at best a mixed legacy on gay rights, a negative one on AIDS.

Producers Josh Wood and Jared Needle brought DJs Ana Paula from Brazil and Dave Aude for a huge outdoor party on the Hudson River at the Circle Line Pier in Hell’s Kitchen.

Cyndi Lauper performed at this year’s pier dance to an enthusiastic crowd. The event featured some of the hottest gogo dancers and music by three amazing DJ/producers: Eddie Baez, The Perry Twins and DJ Boris. EDGE has the photos!

Together for the very first time! The day before Gay Pride, DJs Corey Craig, the Freemasons and Moto Blanco played some great music for the crowd. NYC Pride and Rafferty/Mazur Events sponsored this great DJ line-up.

As it’s the case every year this cruise aboard the Queen of Hearts was a sold-out success full of muscles, fur and fun, including a special presentation by the lovely Page Turner.

Grand Marshals Cyndi Lauper, Phyllis Siegel, Chris Salgardo and Connie Kopelov led the NYC Pride parade down Fifth Avenue towards the West Village. This year also marked the one year anniversary of New York’s same-sex marriage law. We got pics!

New York’s largest open-air gay dance party won’t be held in the open air this year. Citing deterioration on the pier, the city has moved the Gay Pride capper Dance on the Pier to an enclosed space, also on the water.

New York, city of neighborhoods, is constantly in the throes of reinventing itself, especially on the west side where two new hotels -- and a dingy alley reclaimed as a beer garden -- are at the heart of these urban transformations.

In a city like New York it is quite an achievement to hold an event for which gay people would do anything to get on the guest list. Well Hugh Hysell and his Men Event organization have succeeded in creating such an event: the Post-Pride Party held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hundreds gathered this past Wednesday for a couple of hours of socializing and drinks, not to mention being treated to an exclusive, no-hassle peek at the highly acclaimed Alexander McQueen exhibit.
