Opponents of the ’don’t ask don’t tell’ policy on gays in the military interrupted President Barack Obama with heckling at a Los Angeles fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer.

The protesters shouted to ask Obama what he is going to do about the policy, which prohibits gays from serving openly in the military. The shouts grew so insistent that Obama responded.

The president said that he supports overturning "don’t ask don’t tell" and suggested the protesters should be yelling at the people who don’t.

Obama has called on Congress to lift the ban, and military officials are examining how to do that.

Obama also told the crowd that Boxer opposed "don’t ask don’t tell" in the first place.

Why was he even there? Going there on the Tax Payers $$$ Shouldn’t the Sen. be able to stand on her own merits?

When will Obama quit campaigning and start trying to run the country? Let Sen. Boxer run her own affairs. I’m sure Obama could spend our hardearned taxpayer dollars on another endeavor.

Obviously the two anonymous posters criticizing Obama don’t understand our democracy. Yes Obama is the president and as such must attend to matters of state. He is an elected official and must represent us as such, however, he is also the nominated and elected head of the democratic party and must act in this capacity as well. The only argument to be made in this instance is whether or not Obama is doing a good job of prioritizing his TWO jobs. Obviously taking a few weeks at most to perform one job and spending a year doing the other shows us his overwhelming sense of responsibility lies with his job as POTUS. The arguments, complaining, whining, and backbiting are so unnecessary. At least in this instance.
