The Real Ghostbusters: The Complete Series
If you grew up in the 1980’s everyone knew the answer to "Who Ya Gonna Call?" Ghostbusters. The film followed New York City parapsychologists who became ghost exterminators and was the most successful comedy of the 1980’s.
In 1986 The Real Ghostbusters animated series aired on ABC from 1986-1991, it lasted 7 seasons and voiced talents like Arsenio Hall, Dave Coulier, and Maurice LaMarche who would later go onto voice The Brain in "Pinky and the Brain."
The production staff is pretty impressive too, J. Michael Straczynski ("Babylon 5") was a writer for a good part of the show, Dan Riba directed episodes and would later go onto many DC animated series in the late ’90’s, and Kevin Altieri who would also go onto "Batman: The Animated Series."
The series picked up where the movie left off, and would have 134 episodes, plus 13 episodes of "Slimer!" The show was a fun show when it came out and 23 years later is still fun to watch. Those who are unfamiliar with the show don’t need to have seen the movie to understand the show, for those who have seen the movie or this series it’s a nice bit of nostalgia.
